This picture looks aweseome Bert. I like all the natural light from the big windows. I think a problem with hospitals is the confined feeling you get from the rooms. The natural light seems to give a more open feel.
Great room Bert. Even though Graham mentioned the materials, I am sure there is laminate hardwood flooring that cost much less than actually hardwood flooring. The natural light is great but your costs will be the biggest contributing factor as to how "homey" the rooms feel. Maybe you should check out the construction of the new Intensive Care unit being built in the Kamloops hospital.
Thanks guys, yeah im going to try and find a way to make the place homey and cost effective. Which may be a difficult task. Ill see if i can get some more info about the hospital construction. I know some people who work there so hopefully they can help me.
You could also contact the local office of Stantec who I believe are doing the design for the renovations to the hospital.
